Oranka Juice Solutions supplies the UK hospitality sector with premium juices, smoothies and innovative dispensing systems. Working with leading hotels, caterers and restaurants, Oranka combines product quality, innovation and customer service to deliver tailored beverage solutions across the UK.
As the business continued to grow, Oranka sought a long-term sustainability partner to help formalise its existing environmental initiatives, achieve ISO 14001 certification, respond confidently to increasingly detailed customer sustainability requirements and build internal capability across the operations team.

Oranka has built its reputation on quality, innovation and strong business values. While the organisation already had a range of effective environmental initiatives in place, it wanted to establish a more structured and strategic approach to environmental management.
The business was looking for more than a certification consultant. It wanted a trusted sustainability partner that could help transform existing good practice into a robust ISO 14001-certified environmental management system while supporting wider business objectives and future growth.

We developed a tailored support programme designed to meet Oranka’s changing needs and sustainability priorities.
- Environmental management system design and implementation: Building on Oranka’s existing strengths, we designed and implemented an environmental management system aligned with ISO 14001 best practice. The system was developed to deliver measurable environmental improvements while supporting operational efficiency, compliance and business performance.
- NHS and customer carbon reporting: As Oranka expanded opportunities within healthcare and care settings, robust carbon reporting became increasingly important. We developed practical carbon accounting and reporting processes that support NHS supplier requirements and provide customers with reliable environmental performance data.
- Sustainable supply chain tools: Oranka operates within a complex global supply chain involving fruit growers, ingredient suppliers, packaging manufacturers, logistics providers and production partners. We developed a comprehensive supplier sustainability framework that embeds environmental and social considerations throughout supplier selection, onboarding, evaluation and ongoing management.
Our approach
Using ISO 14001 as a platform for business improvement
At Brite Green, we believe ISO 14001 should be more than a compliance exercise. The standard provides a powerful framework for improving environmental performance, managing business risks and creating long-term value.
Our work with Oranka began with a strategic review of existing environmental management practices. We benchmarked performance against both sector peers and organisations recognised for environmental leadership to identify strengths, opportunities and priority actions.
Working closely with Oranka’s Operations Director, we designed a management system tailored specifically to the needs of the business. Rather than implementing an off-the-shelf solution, we created processes that integrated naturally with existing ways of working.
A detailed strategic context review examined environmental impacts, risks, dependencies and opportunities across the entire value chain, from agricultural production and ingredient sourcing through to distribution and end use. These insights helped shape both the environmental management system and wider sustainability strategy.
We then worked across the organisation to embed sustainability into day-to-day decision making, including:
- Supporting the sales team to communicate Oranka’s environmental credentials more effectively and optimise travel planning to reduce emissions.
- Working with logistics providers to gather and analyse transport emissions data, creating a baseline for performance improvement.
- Enhancing warehouse and workshop operations through improved COSHH management, waste controls, energy management and environmental compliance processes.
- Delivering sustainability training for managers and key operational teams to build internal capability and ownership.
- Implementing environmental objectives, monitoring processes, internal audits and management review arrangements to support continual improvement.
To ensure a smooth route to certification, we managed the certification body selection process, obtained and evaluated quotations, and provided on-site support throughout the external audit process.
