Climate and carbon

Measure your emissions and deliver your net zero ambitions

Climate change poses a complex array of risks and opportunities for organisations. Changes in temperature, weather patterns and ecosystems will have new and unexpected impacts on our world, exposing people, value chains and wildlife to risk and uncertainty. Similarly, business will be exposed to changes in technology, market factors and legislation, which will bring both risk and opportunities.

Organisations need to be able to measure and disclose carbon emissions accurately, understand and manage their exposure to climate-related risks and opportunities, and deliver new business models and practices to decarbonise their entire value chain in order to meet their net zero ambitions.

Our approach

GHG measurement & reporting

We help organisations of all sizes to measure and monitor their carbon emissions. Our experienced consultants help you to navigate the process with confidence, following a structured a robust approach:

Review operations & define reporting boundaries

Each carbon measurement process starts with our team getting to understand your organisation – your processes, locations, structure and team. We will then, using the GHG protocol, define which emissions sources you need to report.

Collect data

We will develop a data collection methodology that suits your organisation’s circumstance. We will work with your team to plan the type of data needed and how to collect it, and provide ongoing support during the collection process.

Prepare calculations

We will calculate your carbon emissions across scopes 1, 2 and 3 in line with industry best practice, and prepare robust, easy to understand evidence packs that provide a clear audit trail.

Seek out insights

We will analyse your emissions to draw out insights that will help you deliver carbon reductions and cost savings.

Energy audits, SECR & ESOS compliance

We have extensive experience helping organisations identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency. Our energy specialists can carry out detailed energy audits to identify, quantify and prioritise energy reduction opportunities, including equipment upgrades, improved controls, and staff behaviour and processes. We are able to provide detailed forecasts for carbon and cost savings, and expected costs for solutions, providing decision makers with robust information to make investment and business planning decisions.

We provide comprehensive compliance support for companies who are required to disclose energy and carbon emissions through the Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting Regulations (SECR) and those organisations who qualify for the Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS).

ESG disclosures & questionnaires

We help organisations to identify and disclose relevant climate-related risks and opportunities, in line with guidance from the Taskforce on Climate- relate Financial Disclosures (TCFD), IFRS S1 General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information and IFRS S2: Climate-related disclosures.

Net zero targets & strategy

We provide comprehensive support to set science- based targets and strategies to achieve them. Drawing on our carbon measurement and reporting support, we help organisations establish robust baselines and establish clear short-, medium-, and long-term science-based carbon reduction targets and help organisations achieve approval from SBTi.

We help organisations to develop practical and costed strategies to achieve their net zero targets, integrating insights from energy audits with policies, stakeholder engagement programmes, and design frameworks to create a clear and achievable roadmap.
